About Us
Semua Shipping Sdn Bhd was first incorporated in April 1980. The group started-off its business by distributing fuel oil to Shell Timor Sdn Bhd with just a pair of tug and barge. The business has grown over the years and Shell remains as the Group’s principal customer.

In 1983, Semua Shipping purchased its first oil tanker, and chartered it to an oil major for oil transportation within East and West Malaysia. In 1989, an oil major awarded two (2) 10-year Consecutive Voyage Charters (CVCs) to the Group. Two (2) new tankers, namely M.T. Miri Energy and M.T. Miri Glory, were acquired to service the two (2) CVCs.

Pursuant to a joint effort with an oil major, the Group was accredited with ISO 9002 by SIRIM in relation to M.T. Miri Glory and M.T. Miri Energy in 1994 and 1995 respectively. In 1998, the Group was accredited with International Safety Management Code (ISM) Document of Compliance.

In 2003, Semado Maritime Sdn Bhd was successfully awarded another long-term charter for a seven (7) years CVC from an oil major. A secondhand tanker, named M.T. Miri Cahaya was acquired and put into operations in March 2004.

In
2005, Sumatec Resources Berhad bought over 100% shares in Semua Shipping Sdn Bhd, Semado Maritime Sdn Bhd, Mini Tanker Chartering Sdn Bhd and Tubau Oil Supply Sdn Bhd and assumed management control of the Group. Semua Shipping Sdn Bhd was awarded a seven (7) years CVC by an oil major and in August 2005, another oil tanker, named “M.T. Semua Bersatu” was acquired and commenced operations in September 2005 to service the CVC.

In 2006 and 2007, the Group signed 5 Contracts for the building of six (6) 8,000 dwt and two (2) 11,000 dwt product oil tankers in China and two (2) 13,000 dwt oil & chemical tankers in Korea.
