Business Milestones
1980 -
Incorporation of Semua Shipping Sdn Bhd in April and commenced business by distributing fuel oil using a pair of tug and barge for Shell Marketing Company Borneo Limited (now Shell Timor Sdn Shd) within the Fourth Division of Sarawak i.e. Lutong, Miri, Bintulu and Baram Areas.
   
1982 -
First business experience with Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd (Shell Malaysia) by spot chartering a new pair of tug/barge for carriage of Shell’s clean petroleum products in Peninsula Malaysia.
   
1983 -
Purchase of the Company’s first oil tanker, “M.T. Timor Raya”, and chartered it to Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd for oil transportation between and within East and West Malaysia.
   
1988 -
Awarded first Consecutive Voyage Charter (CVC) from Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd.
   
1989 -
Two more CVC contracts awarded by Shell.

Delivery of first new tanker “M.T. Jasa 88” for charter contract to Shell in May.
   
1990 -
Delivery of second new tanker “M.T. Miri Glory” for charter contract to Shell in December.
   
1991 -
Delivery of third new tanker “M.T. Miri Energy” for charter contract to Shell in August.
   
1994 -
Awarded MS ISO 9002 By SIRIM for “M.T. Jasa 88” and “M.T. Miri Glory”.
   
1995 -
MS ISO 9002 accreditation for “M.T. Miri Energy”.
   
1997 -
Acquired a second hand oil tanker, named “M.T. Miri Cheery”, from Japan in September for spot charter to oil majors in Malaysia.
   
1998 -
Obtained ISM Document of Compliance issued by Marine Department of Malaysia in March 1998.

Obtained Safety Management Certificates for all our tankers in March.

Purchased another second hand tanker, named “M.T. Jasa 98” from Japan in July for spot charter to oil majors in Malaysia.
   
2000 -
Formed Semado Maritime Sdn Bhd to acquire a newly built tanker “M.T. Jasa Ketiga”.
   
2001 -
A 10-year CVC contract, including option periods, awarded by Shell to Semado Maritime Sdn Bhd in January for “M.T. Jasa Ketiga”.

Took delivery of “M.T. Jasa Ketiga” in February.
  -
Two more 3 years CVC contracts awarded by Shell in March for “M.T. Miri Cheery” and “M.T. Jasa 98”.

Another 10-year CVC contract awarded by Shell to Semado Maritime Sdn Bhd in September for “M.T. Jasa Maju 1”.

Took delivery of “M.T. Jasa Maju 1” in October and commenced operation in November.
   
2002 -
Inspected by IMT of Exxon Mobil.
  -
Strengthening Management Team by the recruitment of experienced foreign going captains and engineers.
   
2003 -
Awarded a 7-year CVC contract, including option periods by Shell to Semado Maritime Sdn Bhd.
   
2004 -
Took delivery of “M.T. Miri Cahaya” and commenced operation in March.
     
2005 - Sumatec Resources Berhad bought over 100% shares in Semua Shipping, Semado Maritime, Mini Tanker Chartering and Tubau Oil Supply.
  - In August, another oil tanker was added to the fleet, namely “M.T. Semua Bersatu” and commenced its 7 years CVC, including option periods, charter with Shell Malaysia.
     
2006 - Contract signing ceremony for two (2) 8000 dwt Product Oil Tankers in Shanghai, China on June 12.
  - Contract signing ceremony for another two (2) 8000 dwt Product Oil Tankers in Shanghai, China on October 18.
     
2007 - Contract signing ceremony for a further two (2) 8000 dwt Product Oil Tankers in Shanghai, China on March 27.
  - Launching of “M.T. Semua Berjaya”, the company’s first new 8000 dwt Double Hull Tanker on August 3, in Yangzhou Keijin Shipyard.
  - Achieved 1 Million Manhours Without Lost Time Injury (LTI) in August.
  - Contract signing ceremony for two (2) 13,000 dwt Oil & Chemical Tankers in Tongyeong, Korea on November 5.
  - Contract signing ceremony for two (2) 11,000 dwt Product Oil Tankers in Shanghai, China on December 28
     
2008 - Tubau Oil Supply Sdn Bhd was officially renamed Semua Chemical Shipping Sdn Bhd on January 3.
  - Delivery of 1st newbuild Double Hull Tanker “M.T. Semua Berjaya” and successfully performed her maiden voyage on January 26.
  - Delivery of 2nd newbuild Double Hull Tanker “M.T. Semua Bahagia” and successfully performed her maiden voyage on April 1.
  - Delivery of 3rd newbuild Double Hull Tanker “M.T. Semua Sejati” and successfully performed her maiden voyage on July 1.
  - Achieved 2 Million Manhours Without Lost Time Injury (LTI) in September.
  - Delivery of 4th newbuild Double Hull Tanker “M.T. Semua Selamat” and successfully performed her maiden voyage on December 5.
     
2009 - Delivery of 5th newbuild Double Hull Tanker “M.T. Semua Gemilang” and successfully performed her maiden voyage on April 30.
  - Delivery of 6th newbuild Double Hull Tanker “M.T. Semua Gembira” scheduled for the end of May
  - Achieved 3 Million Manhours Without Lost Time Injury (LTI) in August.
  - Delivery of two (2) units of  newbuild Double Hull Chemical tankers “M.T. Semua Perdana” and “M.T. Semua Perkasa” on September 10, and October 12, respectively at Korea Shipyard.
     
2010 - Delivery of two (2) units of newbuild Double Hull Tanker “M.T. Semua Muhibbah” and “M.T. Semua Mutiara” on May 3, and August 12  respectively.
